A lean specialist practice designing the geospatial data infrastructure that governments and energy operators depend on.
The Team
People & Leadership
Soheil Sotoodeh
Founder & Enterprise Data Architect
Soheil is a PMP certified enterprise data architect with 12+ years of personal professional experience — spanning roles at KW Subsea (2012–2017), Samsung Research, and Parkopedia, before founding ActiveSense in 2017. He leads every engagement personally, from architecture design through to delivery. He leads on national-scale data platforms for UK government and energy clients.
Shadi Fekri Yazdi
Senior GIS Specialist
Shadi is a Senior GIS Specialist with hands-on expertise in geospatial data processing, quality control, and standards-compliant GIS delivery. She supports data integration workflows, QC procedures, and ArcGIS platform configuration across ActiveSense's government and energy engagements — bringing structured rigour to the data processing stages that determine whether a platform holds up under operational load.
Salar Sotoodeh
Technical Specialist
Salar is a Technical Specialist providing engineering workflow support, data processing, and technical development across ActiveSense engagements. His work spans GIS data processing pipelines, format conversion, and the hands-on technical stages that translate data architecture designs into working deliverables — including support on the Acorn CCS programme.
Our Philosophy
Our Approach
“We design the data model before we touch a tool.”
Most GIS projects fail at the architecture stage — tools are chosen before the data model is defined, standards are bolted on at the end, and the result is a platform that works for the demo but breaks under real load. We reverse this. Every engagement starts with data: what it means, how it relates, what standards it must conform to, and how it will be discovered and maintained for years to come.
